SecondBrain Pro

SecondBrain Pro: the facts

A voice-first memory app for Apple users. Capture thoughts, search saved memories and choose local storage, iCloud sync or your own AI backend.

Reviewed 15 October 2026. These facts describe the published app, currently version 2.0.7. Device compatibility and regional prices are maintained in the App Store.

Who it is for

People who want to save ideas, decisions and learnings by voice and retrieve them later. An Apple Watch companion supports capture from your wrist. Optional backend and MCP tools serve users who want memories in their developer workflows.

The app focuses on personal capture and recall. Full meeting transcription and speaker labels are outside its documented capabilities. Review generated answers against the saved memories.

Frequently asked questions

Is iCloud sync free?

Yes. iCloud sync is included in Free, Standard and Premium. It requires an Apple account signed in to iCloud and available iCloud storage.

Is SecondBrain Pro a subscription?

The app is free to download. Standard and Premium are optional one-time in-app purchases. Regional prices are shown in the App Store and the purchase sheet. Your own Cloudflare services may incur separate usage charges.

Does every feature work on iOS 17?

No. The current App Store release lists iOS 17.0 or later and iPadOS 17.0 or later. On-device AI chat uses Apple Foundation Models and requires iOS 26 or later, compatible Apple Intelligence hardware, enabled Apple Intelligence and an available model. Check the App Store for device compatibility before installing.

Do I need a SecondBrain account?

No SecondBrain account is required for local storage or iCloud mode. iCloud needs your Apple account. The optional Premium backend needs your own Cloudflare account and credentials.

Does my data stay on my device?

Local Only stores memories on your device. iCloud sync sends memories to Apple iCloud. The optional Cloudflare backend stores memories remotely and can process selected context for AI. Apple speech recognition may use Apple servers. Location context is optional. See the privacy policy for details.

What does MCP require?

Premium, a configured user-owned Cloudflare backend, its URL and API key, the MCP bridge and a compatible MCP client. Local-only memories are not automatically available to external assistants.

Can I use the app without Apple Intelligence?

Voice and text capture and ordinary search do not depend on Apple Foundation Models. On-device AI chat needs supported hardware and model availability. Premium users can configure their own Cloudflare AI backend for cloud processing.

How is this different from a transcription app?

SecondBrain Pro is built around saving and finding personal memories. Choose a transcription-focused workflow if your main goal is a full meeting transcript or speaker-by-speaker recording. SecondBrain Pro does not promise those capabilities.
